      Rectangular plates made of laminated composite material because of the advantageously high strength and stiffness to weight ratio are used frequently as structural component in various branches of engineering, chief of which are aerospace and marine engineering. Design concepts of these plates that lead to the increase in the buckling load can directly lower the structural cost . Thus the geometric nonlinear effects must be taken into account for the composite structures that undergo large deformation or rotation. The main goal of this paper is to develop a 3D A-FEM based modeling framework to account for all possible damage events and their nonlinear coupling for composite laminates under large deformation.
